Export vocabulary to CSV or Anki CSV
Take the words you choose from a sentence into a spreadsheet or your own Anki review workflow.
Two exports for two kinds of study material
The online sentence study tool exports selected, successfully translated words from the current sentence. It does not keep a history or a saved library. The native PhraseCut app exports your saved study library, including the information maintained by that library. These files serve different purposes and do not have identical columns.
What the online CSV contains
| Column | Content |
|---|---|
| Word | The individual source word you selected. |
| Meaning | Its machine translation into the selected target language. |
| Sentence | The original full sentence. |
| Translation | The full-sentence translation. |
| Source language / Target language | The language codes for that analysis. |
For a sentence such as Context helps you remember new words.
, selecting remember exports that word and its meaning with the complete original sentence. Words without a successful translation cannot be selected for export.
Import Anki CSV with the right field mapping
Choose Anki CSV in the web export format control and download the file. In Anki, import the CSV and map Word and Meaning to the front and back of your note. To keep the sentence visible during review, use a note type with additional Sentence and Translation fields and map those columns too.
The file includes Anki separator and column metadata and treats its contents as plain text. It is an Anki-compatible CSV, not an APKG package; it does not install a ready-made deck or card template. Follow the Anki manual for text-file imports if you need to customize your note type.
Keep attribution for recommended article excerpts
When your sentence comes from an online recommendation, both CSV formats add Publisher, Author, Original URL, License, License URL, and Attribution after the six base columns. Keep these fields when reusing or sharing the source text. Machine translations are PhraseCut output, not translations by the original publisher; original and adapted text retain their indicated licenses.
For Anki, add matching note fields to retain the source credits, or keep the complete CSV alongside your notes. Recommendations currently use English public sources; this does not restrict the languages you can paste and translate yourself.
Use regular CSV for a spreadsheet or a copy of the current result
Regular CSV has a header row and UTF-8 encoding. It works as a portable list of selected vocabulary and sentence context. Keep the downloaded file if you want to revisit the web result later, since the website itself does not save your entries.
Export your saved library from the app
Use Library export in the iPhone, iPad, or Mac app when you want saved study items rather than only the currently displayed web sentence. Saving and spaced-repetition review happen in the app; importing into Anki uses Anki's own note fields and review scheduling.
